EPSON has further developed its market leading dot matrix technology with the launch of two new printers, capable of catering medium and high print volumes. The FX-890 and FX-2190 both deliver robust solutions to the industrial production, warehouse and wholesale sectors and are the fastest products in their class.

The EPSON FX-890 and wide carriage FX-2190 dot matrix printers are built to offer improved printing speeds, better reliability and flexible paper handling. The FX-890 has a print width of 80 columns and the FX-2190 offers 136 columns. Both are ideal for production, car dealers, warehouses, labs, wholesalers, freight forwarders, finance departments and trade users who want high performance at low cost.

"EPSON's dot matrix printers deliver great value to users of high-volume applications because of benefits like reliability and flexible paper handling," said Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, EPSON Middle East. "These dot matrix printers are fastest in their class and maximise productivity with speeds up to 680cps. We believe that our Middle East customers looking for durable printers will find these new dot matrix printers ideal for meeting their requirements of speed and productivity."

The 2x9 pin printers are equipped to handle a wide range of jobs, including system event log printing, listings, orders, invoices and labels.

These printers are the fastest in their class, maximising productivity with speeds up to 680cps. This is delivered with improved reliability, thanks to a Mean Volume Between Failure (MVBF) of 52 million lines and an MTBF figure of 20,000 Power on Hours. Additionally, long-lasting ribbons print up to 7.5 million (FX-890) or 12 million characters (FX-2190) with a print head life of up to 400 million characters.

Flexibility is assured by handling up to 1 original and 5 copies (1+6 copies with pull tractor) and paper handling from the front, top, rear and bottom of the printer. The push tractor can be repositioned to be a pull tractor, or combined with the optional Push/Pull tractor ensuring the smoothest paper feed. Two optional cut sheet feeders can be used to store different forms. Also, with a second Push/Pull tractor option, up to 4 different forms can be stored at the same time (2 continuous and 2 single sheet). The optional Front Paper Guide can be used to insert small paper from the front and the optional Front Sheet Guide is for feeding A4 sheets.

Simple, fast connection is provided by standard parallel and USB interfaces, while the capabilities of these printers can be shared via optional wireless and wired network interfaces.
