Senders can win 3 cash prizes in monthly draws and earn points through Privilege Card

Dubai, March 26, 2006: Emirates Post has announced the launch of "Direct2Door", a speedy parcel and document service to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, in collaboration with major courier companies in the respective countries, backed by a money-back guarantee and track-and-trace facility.

The new product offers two types of services through all post offices and postal agencies in the UAE. The Direct2Door Guaranteed Parcel offers delivery of personal packages of up to 30 kg in less than 10 days. The Direct2Door Express service ensures delivery of documents and parcels in just 3 days. Emirates Post will refund the parcel charges if the delivery is not done within the stipulated period.

Announcing the new service at a press conference, Mr. Abdullah Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post, said: "These guaranteed and express services come on the heels of the huge success of Emirates Post's Bharat Parcel Guaranteed.  The increase in the number of expatriates from Asian countries has prompted us to launch these value-added services. The new offering will help us consolidate our market share in the field of express parcels and documents."

"We have partnered with reputed courier companies in the five countries to deliver parcels or documents directly to homes or offices," added Mr. Daboos. "We are confident thousands of UAE residents will find this service useful, as we guarantee to refund the parcel charges if delivery is delayed."

To promote "Direct2Door", Emirates Post has announced a promotion that entitles all customers to automatically join an electronic draw that offers three cash prizes of Dhs. 10,000, Dhs. 5,000 and Dhs. 3,000 every month. The promotion will continue till the end of 2006, and draws will be held at the end of each month.

In addition, customers can also earn points through the Emirates Post Privilege Card, at the rate of 10 points for each dirham. The points can be redeemed for gifts, including mobile phones, home appliances and electronic products. Customers can apply for the Privilege Card at any post office.

Customers can track their parcels through the website on www.emiratespost.ae or by contacting the call centre 04-3340033.

The "Guaranteed Parcel" service carries a basic delivery charge of Dh. 40, and additional fee of Dh. 6 per kg. The maximum weight allowed is 30 kg. The total cost of the parcel contents should not exceed customs duty limit as per rules and regulations of the country of destination.
