Dubai, 7 December, 2016
Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, took home the ‘Smart Financial Services Excellence Award’ at the ‘6th Middle East Municipalities and Smart Cities Excellence Awards’. The bank was recognised for its outstanding commitment to smart banking and living, in support of Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Smart Dubai vision that aims to make living in Dubai the most efficient, seamless, and impactful experience through technology innovation.
The bank was lauded for being a digital innovator in the region, offering customers a seamless and omnichannel delivery of its products and services and empowering them with a truly smart lifestyle. Through the Emirates NBD Future Lab™, launched earlier this year, the bank has cultivated a culture of innovation that consistently develops personalised consumer-centric offerings to make banking and payment transactions convenient and accessible all day for Dubai’s residents.
Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Retail Distribution at Emirates NBD, who represented the bank at the award ceremony said: “Inspired and led by His Highness’s vision of a Smart Dubai, we have consistently innovated to create a truly smart living experience for our customers. From our Go4it credit card that combines the benefits of a payment card with a RTA Nol card, to our digital and mobile platforms that allow customers to pay their utility bills or top up Salik on-the-go, Emirates NBD remains committed to providing 24/7 banking and payment services to customers, helping transform Dubai into a truly smart community.”
Judged by a committee of specialists, the 6th Middle East Municipalities and Smart Cities Excellence Awards, recognises and honours notable achievements of exceptional municipalities and private institutions that have brought recognition to their respective constituency, community and country through their achievements.
The award ceremony was held on the second day of the 6th GCC Municipalities and Smart Cities Conference, a forum dedicated to discussing the latest strategies in mobilising global cities competitiveness, challenges encountered in sustaining the municipalities, and various solutions and initiatives pivotal for smart city development.
