United Arab Emirates, Dubai- 17th May 2006: Emirates Bank took on yet another worthy project with the sponsorship of the Dubai Womens College's International Study Tour for Travel and Tourism Students. Emirates Bank, together with Switzerland Tourism and Swiss International Air Lines, were the esteemed 'Partners for Success' for the international study tours.
Mr. Louis Scotto, Emirates Bank General Manager- Retail Banking said, "We, at Emirates Bank, believe that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow and we are very pleased to have lent a helping hand to the Dubai Womens College's International Study Tour for Travel and Tourism Students. We offer our full support to the female Emirati students of today and fully encourage the culture of women in business, which we already witness across almost all sectors in the UAE."
Mr. Scotto continued, "Emirates Bank is proud to be a direct contributor to the development and enhancement of a student's educational path and we hope to be invited to partner in similar projects in the future. Emirates Bank appreciates the growing number of students in the UAE and has designed a student-oriented package branded meUNIVERSITY to offer university students a new dimension to their university life whilst giving them a valuable lesson in financial responsibility all in one go."
In the final year Higher Diploma Business & Management- Travel and Tourism Specialization programme, students were involved in a practical marketing and promotions project that consolidated much of what they had learnt in their discipline. The major project, an international familiarization trip to Switzerland, allowed students to apply skills learnt during the programme and to act as young Emirati ambassadors in a European country.
On the students' return from Switzerland, they conducted a "Switzerland/Swiss Week" promotion in the Dubai Womens College cafeteria and coffee shop. This promotion allowed the students to exercise their customer service and public relation skills by personally promoting Switzerland and the services of Swiss International Air Lines to the students and the staff of the college.
Within the meUNIVERSITY package, Emirates Bank offers meUNIVERSITY Transaction Accounts, easy Tuition Loans, and Credit Cards. meUNIVERSITY Accounts and Tuition Loans help make students' first steps into the banking world an easy and sensible one, while meUNIVERSITY Credit Cards help to continue their journey into financial responsibility.
