Dubai UAE, 21 February 2009; The market will continue to develop leading edge and innovative educational technologies that impart scientific, IT, technical and critical-thinking skills to the region's young population, according to ASF Karim, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai based learning specialists Edutech. Driven by the continuous efforts of regional governments to implement education reforms, the growing importance of the integration of technology into the curriculum is set to usher in more technology-led systems within the classrooms for the benefit of stakeholders within the education sector.
With the established capacity of technology-powered learning solutions to achieve tangible and time-bound results, it is being eyed by governments and industry leaders as playing a very important role in addressing the impending need for well-trained professionals across the region's most important sectors. Furthermore, the commitment of regional Education Ministries towards meeting and transcending international thresholds in education results is also expected to drive the development of more powerful eLearning solutions in the immediate future.
Mr Karim was commenting on Edutech's participation at next month's Gulf Supplies & Solutions (GESS) exhibition, running from March 10 - 12 at Dubai's Airport Expo.
At the exhibition, Edutech will help teachers and education professionals from across the Middle East discover the latest techniques and technologies that enhance learning via a series of workshops, live demonstrations and seminars at their stand covering science, engineering, and other learning solutions meant for the classroom and library.
"Since our founding Edutech has been a forerunner in the implementation of scalable, flexible and easy to use technology-enabled learning solutions in schools, universities and vocational institutes. In the GCC in particular, we expect focus on the education sector to continue in the coming years as the region continues to move away from oil-based economies towards knowledge-based ones," Mr Karim said.
In addition to attending one of the many seminars being held, visitors to the Edutech stand will be able to experience the launch of several new products including Intelitek - a hybrid technology training system for automated production, mechatronics and manufacturing technologies and the SPARK Science Learning System from PASCO which empowers students to explore the world around them and make their own scientific discoveries.
"We are absolutely delighted to have Edutech, who are so committed to education across the region participating at GESS again in 2009. The range of solutions that they provide as well as the workshops, demonstrations and seminars that they will be running are sure to be of interest to a significant portion of our exhibition visitors this year," said Sue Rothwell, Group Event Director of Fair & Exhibitions, organisers GESS.
