e-TQM College, the premier electronic college offering online courses in Total Quality Management (TQM) in the Arab world, will participate at GITEX 2004 to be held from October 3 to 7, 2004, under the Dubai e-Government umbrella. e-TQM college's new Post Graduate Programmes; its Centres of Excellence in Policing, Health and Education, e-Support recourses; Quality Hub; e-Learning and e-Quality Digests will be in focus at its debut appearance in the Middle East Region's leading IT exhibition.
"As a learning tool, online courses are perhaps the single most important innovation to have revolutionised the parameters of education in recent years. By taking learning out of the four walls of a classroom environment, e-Learning has removed entrenched obstacles to gaining education, such as age and sometimes gender, financial standing and limitations of time. It is also significant that by electronically delivery learning content, such courses free-up considerable time to for the practical applications, optimising thus the entire learning experience," said Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Director of e-TQM College.
"This learning tool is of particular significance to students and professionals in the Middle East, especially in commercial hubs such as Dubai, where time is at a premium and often professional and personal commitments come in the way of continuing professional education," explained Dr. Al Awar. "Another crucial factor driving the growth of online quality education is the rising awareness about quality issues in the region's markets. More and more employers are investing in TQM courses, so as to equip themselves to compete successfully in global markets. This requirement, combined with the time constraint, makes online TQM courses the ideal solution."
At GITEX Dubai 2004, e-TQM College will turn the spotlight on its unique Centres of Excellence, which thoroughly document the necessary components of quality systems to enable organisations in Education, Health, Policing and other sectors to deliver valued quality services to customers. Identifying Education, Health and Policing as the social services crucial to a vibrant and growing society, the Centres of Excellence provide strategic guidance on quality management in these services.
e-TQM College has also recently introduced a two-year Post-Graduate Degree Course Total Quality Management. Launched in collaboration with the University of Bradford, ranked the 16th top university in UK, the programme is the first of its kind in the Middle East. It is the only programme at such an advanced level to offer learners in the region the flexibility of e-Learning.
e-TQM's College's programmes and centres of excellence are supported by extensive e-learning tools, the use of which will benefit from detailed exposure at GITEX Dubai 2004. These tools include the Quality Hub, a unique online encyclopaedia on quality concerns still in the process of development. Made up of informative articles, rich case studies, dos and don'ts reports and roadmaps, the Quality Hub will cater to the needs of professionals who want to tap into their peer experiences in quality management and implementation and could be accessed through yearly subscription.
Another e-Learning tool in the spotlight will be the e-Quality Digest, a monthly newsletter-which should be subscribed yearly, that details TQM related topics with the objective of maintaining the vibrancy of dialogue on evolving quality standards in the international arena and more specifically in the Arab world.
Meanwhile for professionals in the field of online learning, e-TQM will showcase its e-Learning Digest, a quarterly newsletter addressing the issues relevant to and the innovations influencing the evolution of online learning. The objective is to support the advancement of research and development in the field of e-learning, across the globe and in the Middle East. Visitors to eLearning Digest can also share their own practical experiences further enriching this repository of information. The subscription to the digest is available for free from e-TQM College website.
e-TQM College's participation at GITEX Dubai 2004, under the auspices of Dubai eGovernment, will also seek to highlight the close co-operation developed between these two organisations towards promoting a knowledge society in the UAE. e-TQM College has also joined the ePay online service of Dubai eGovernment, where candidates undergoing e-Learning courses from e-TQM College can pay for their instruction and course material by using the eDirham card or any credit cards. e-TQM's online courses and Total Quality Management tools have also made a strong contribution towards fulfilling eGovernment's stated objective of achieving a total e-Society.
At GITEX Dubai 2004, e-TQM College can be visited at Hall 8, stand B8-1
