52,000 people visited the Ice City during the last week

Dubai July 31, 2004 - Dubai Under Snow, located in the West Hall of the Dubai International Airport Expo is seeing an increase in the number of visitors daily who absolutely cannot resist the cool, and fun-filled atmosphere at the city.

Abdulla Al Hajiri, Head of the Ice Surprises Organising Committee said, "The number of visitors to Dubai Under Snow has touched 52,000 during the last five weeks of its opening. The city was opened to the public at the same time the Ice Surprises week was launched."

He further remarked that Dubai Under Snow has achieved a higher success rate this year in comparison to all the past years. Dubai Under Snow is the only city that offers an artificial icy zone, where visitors can escape the summer heat of Dubai."

Dubai Under Snow is obviously one of the best attractions during DSS because of more reasons than one. Within minutes of entering the city, one arrives at one of the coldest and iciest places in the world, complete with Dubai landmarks under snow. "Dubai Under Snow captures the essence of 'Big Fun for Little Ones'.

Artificial snow falls and  a play ground piled high with  real snow for children to create snowmen and snowballs  for some healthy and harmless snowball fight  recreate just that warm magical  winter feeling.

There are also several other play formats such as a Fun Fair for children and a play ground for toddlers in order to cater to every age group of the family. As  children  frolic in the snow, the Old Dubai Market area, a restaurant and a Bedouin rest area keeps the elders in the family relaxed.

The Splashy and Sparky Club includes souvenir photography, puppet shows, story telling and drawing competitions.

The Fun Fair area has games and rides such as bungee jumping, bumping cars, train rides and shooting games. The tokens  for these are priced affordably.

The Dubai Under Snow zone is open from 10 am to 10 pm on weekdays and from 3 pm to 10 pm on Fridays. The entrance fee for Dubai Under Snow are Dhs 10 for adults and Dhs 5 for children.
