DUBAI - Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), member of TECOM Investments, announced the official inauguration of the acclaimed French Fashion University ESMOD at the higher education cluster.

French Fashion University ESMOD will focus on tapping the booming fashion industry in the Middle East to complement the region's growing demand for Haute Couture.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX), the Middle East's leading education show, being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 11-14 April.

French Fashion University ESMOD, is the oldest and most prominent schools associated with international fashion education, for more than 160 years. With schools in 20 countries, it has trained generations of professionals who have worked for international stylists such as Christian Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Kenzo, Paco Rabanne, Gaultier, Givenchy and many more.

ESMOD International, established in Paris in 1841 by Frenchman Alexis Lavigne, is recognised as the first institution to codify couture by inventing tools such as the mannequin and the measuring tape.

French Fashion University ESMOD Dubai campus offers various courses taught by French instructors, including a three-year full time bachelor's course, a two-year part time diploma, a  three or six month Fashion Workshop, a fashion summer course, Trend Forecasting & Fashion Media Communication Master-classes in addition to merchandising trainings for retailers.
