DUBAI: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has extended its support to two exhibitions - Garden & Landscaping Middle East and Hardware & Tools Middle East.
The exhibitions organized by Epoc Messe Frankfurt GmbH, are set to take place jointly from May 17 to 19, 2009, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
"These two prominent exhibitions that have shown consistent growth over the years, provide a fitting platform for industry professionals in the Middle East to source products and solutions for the hardware and tools industry, as well as the gardening and landscaping sectors," said HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
"Hardware &Tools Middle East 2009 brings together companies from the entire spectrum of the power tools, hand tools, hardware, and ironmongery, workshop and woodworking machinery industries under one roof, while the Garden & Landscaping Middle East exhibition is the region's leading premium exhibition focused on leisure, landscaping and outdoor living products," added Buamim.
Buamim emphasized that Dubai's position as a regional leader in trade is the main attraction for exhibitions being organized in the Emirate. The Director General of Dubai Chamber pointed out that as Dubai enjoys the strategic status of an East meets West destination, Dubai Chamber is aiming at creating a favorable business environment and promoting Dubai as an international business hub."

Garden and Landscaping Middle East has already received the Patronage of His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmad Muhammad Bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water. His Excellency Bin Fahad will also inaugurate both the exhibitions.
Garden and Landscaping offers the chance to see how garden products and accessories within the region have evolved, thus presenting the industry with the ultimate showcase to fulfil society's demand for such products.
Hardware and Tools is the Middle East's only dedicated event for power tools, hand tools, hardware, ironmongery, and workshop and woodworking machinery.

Dr. Rashid Ahmad Muhammad Bin-Fahad was born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 1964. In February 2008 He was appointed Minister of Environment
& Water; United Arab Emirates.
He holds the following qualifications: • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Environmental
Health), University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, 2001 • M.Sc. Environmental
Science, University of the United Arab Emirates, 1994 • B. Sc., Chemical Engineering, Northeastern University, Boston, Mass, USA, 1989.
Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Hamad Buamim was appointed as the Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry in November 2006. Educated in the USA, Mr. Buamim, graduated from the University of Southern California-Los Angeles in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering & Mathematics.
In 2002, Mr. Buamim obtained an MBA in Finance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City.
In addition to his current position, Mr. Buamim serves in the Government of Dubai as the Deputy Chairman of Dubai Export Development Corporation and a member in the Board of Directors of Dubai Statistics Center.
Mr. Buamim is involved in number of Dubai's leading private organizations in the financial and real estate sectors. He is the Chairman of Emirates Bank International, Deputy Chairman of National Bank of Dubai, Member in the Board of Directors of Emirates NBD Bank (the largest Bank in the Middle East), Chairman of Diners Club-UAE, and a Board member of the Union Properties and Dubai Autodrome.
Mr. Buamim is also a member in the Board of Trustees of the University of Dubai, and an associate member of Dubai International Arbitration Centre.
Prior to joining Dubai Chamber, Mr. Buamim worked in various positions in the Public and Private sectors. He was the Secretary General of Dubai Economic Council, a Corporate Senior Manager in HSBC Bank, a Lecturer of Finance & Banking in the UAE University's College of Business & Economics and a Senior System Engineer in Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) which he joined in 1996 as an initial start of his career.
