Held in association with Araa Finance Training Center, the workshop provided a practical approach to using core financial tools
Dubai, UAE: As part of its efforts in supporting organizations manage their business costs, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Business Support Department in association with the Araa Finance Training Center, hosted a training workshop on "Essentials of Cost Accounting" at the Chamber premises on Sunday.
Conducted by Ted Stephenson, co-founder of Araa Finance Training Center, the workshop was attended by Dubai Chamber members, who gained knowledge about the fundamentals and application of managerial (cost) accounting concepts and using of management accounting techniques in their day-to-day business operations.
Ted Stephenson informed that the recent financial slowdown has emphasized on the need for all organisations to effectively manage their costs as a good management accounting system helps to improve transparency and make better business decisions.
Dr Belaid Rettab, Senior Executive Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector, Dubai Chamber, stated that the workshop came in line with the Chamber's strategic objectives of creating a favourable business environment and supporting the development of business. He further stated that the workshop provided the business community with the practical tools to interpret and analyse financial information which is essential for today's fast-paced business environment.
