Dubai, UAE: In line with its efforts to build a fully-integrated mobile community to help members do business with ease and to promote the concept of smart business amongst the business community, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched a series of new mobile apps during its participation in GITEX Technology Week.

To enhance the customer experience by providing all legal services on a single smart platform, Dubai Chamber launched the Smart Mediation application, which is the first-of-its-kind in the region.

Mediation in business disputes is a concept that is becoming increasingly popular across the Middle East, especially in Dubai. This alternate dispute resolution method assists parties in reaching a mutually satisfactory agreement.

The new app launched by Dubai Chamber will support businesses operating in the emirate and help increase new investment with key international partners. It allows applicants to submit their mediation requests and relevant documents and to make payment. It is bilingual (Arabic & English), user-friendly, simple and fast and has the options to track new and previous applications and obtain status update reports.

The Chamber's Smart Business application allows businesses to build new business partnerships and network of contacts, search for potential business partners by industry and sector and to set-up business meetings with them and to get the latest news and updates of Dubai Chamber events as well as to participate in these events through the click of a button on the new app.

The application also provides various benefits to the business community by  allowing them to apply for Dubai Chamber Credit Rating and CSR Label services, obtain information about participating in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award, get information about CSR tools, book a meeting room or conference facility for an event and to stay up-to-date with Dubai Chamber services.

The E-COO is a new mobile service to issue Electronic Certificates of Origin which saves a lot of time and efforts of the customer who can now obtain these important documents through the comfort of his home or office.

As part of its strategy to expand Dubai businesses' competitiveness in the promising markets of Africa, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Africa Gateway Smart Application is considered a milestone in the world of business and finance as it allows exclusive access to investment opportunities in Africa, its market dynamics, as well as information on bidding for tenders across the continent.

This application provides tips for Dubai companies to reach out to African markets as well as access to economic indicators for the six market economies including Angola, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and South Africa.

H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, said that in line with Dubai's Smart City initiative recommended by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Chamber has developed its range of e-services to ensure its members receive secure and swift services, helping to make Dubai's business environment a world leader.

"Dubai Chamber is committed to improving access to its services, especially e-services and new mobile apps and GITEX is an ideal platform for the Chamber to launch its new mobile apps of Smart Mediation and Smart Business and promote its existing e-services to a wide audience. The objective is to make business smarter and to help promote the emirate as a leading centre of business and finance in the world," added H.E. Buamim.

The total number of e-transactions provided by Dubai Chamber from January to September this year was 7,30,962, which is a 5.5% increase on the 6,92,820 transactions during the same period last year.
