The Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD) has commenced the implementation of its 2 year-long training plan, whereby about 1,000 DNRD employees cutting across employment levels and specialties will undergo comprehensive training that seeks to enhance their overall skills.
The development and implementation of the training program will be done by the Information Technology and Quality Department together with the Planning and Development Department within DNRD. The training program is designed to help DNRD attain the standards of excellence envisioned in the Dubai Government Excellence Program, which aims to develop the capabilities of government department employees and strengthen their administrative skills as well as provide a convenient work environment that inspires better performance.
Brigadier Saeed bin Belielah, Director, DNRD said, "DNRD constantly strives to develop technologies and processes to ensure the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. At the same time, DNRD has also focused on developing human resources and service quality development to meet the increasing demand. The training program is a step that we are taking in the direction of honing the skills of our employees to deliver innovative and high quality services."
Colonel Khalfan Khamis Al Shamsi, Head of Planning and Development Department, DNRD said, "The training program is only the beginning of the development path that DNRD is taking. The program aims to strengthen the skills and capabilities of the Department's employees, in order to build a team capable of taking the Department to the next level of quality and excellence."
"The training program focuses on developing the all-round abilities of the Department's employees and enhancing team spirit, while assisting them to creatively use their capabilities for individual as well as organizational benefits," Colonel Al Shamsi added.
Lt. Colonel Khaled Lootah, Assistant Director, in charge of Information Technology and Quality, said, "In line with our commitment to derive maximum benefits from the training programme, the quality department will constantly monitor the implementation of the plan and ensure the realization of goals, while maintaining the highest quality standards. A quarterly report will also be issued containing general statistics about the number of training sessions conducted, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the plan, in addition to suggestions to improve the efficiency of the training program in future."
"We have already conducted specialized administrative and technical training to develop the capabilities of our employees. A strategic management training session and a highly focussed training in line with DNRD's corporate vision, mission and ethics have been carried out for the Assistant Directors and heads of department at DNRD," added Lootah.
The training sessions have been customized to fit the nature of different activities and services that DNRD offers and to comply with the standards of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, which includes topics on leadership, politics, strategy, human resources, and operations. DNRD is coordinating with the best training and educational institutes in Dubai to ensure that the training plan's goals are achieved to the fullest.

It consists of 12 Sections, six of which are main sections located within the premises of the administration, namely: Naturalization and Passports Section, Entry Permits Section, Residency Section, Investigation and Control Section, Administration and Finance Section and Information Technology Section.
