The Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2012), held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Heir Apparent and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and supported by the Qatar Armed Forces and hosted by the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces, has announced that the forthcoming edition of DIMDEX 2012 will be staged in the new Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in March 26 - 28.
DIMDEX 2012, now in its third edition, will be taking full advantage of all the possibilities this new venue has to offer. This year's conference and exhibition will be the largest yet, underlining Qatar's position as a leading destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
With the increased exhibition space that QNCC has to offer, DIMDEX 2012 and the prestigious Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC) will be fully integrated within the same space, which will provide an enhanced and memorable experience for attendees and participants alike. DIMDEX 2012's exhibition space also includes an outdoor area where various military craft and naval equipment will be on display, in addition to the warships and submarines that will be docked at Doha Commercial Port for the length of the exhibition and conference.
The Chairman of DIMDEX 2012, Staff Brigadier (Sea) Mohammed Bin Nasser Al Mohannadi said: "I am delighted to announce that DIMDEX 2012 and MENC will be hosted at the QNCC. Exhibitors at DIMDEX 2012 are at the forefront of the industry and we hope to provide an enhanced opportunity for these companies to showcase their products this year".
Al Mohannadi added: "DIMDEX is a unique event that offers the latest in marine defence technology, and it is ideal that these cutting-edge technologies will be displayed in the state-of-the-art setting of the QNCC".
DIMDEX 2012 is the only specialized maritime naval defence and security exhibition in the MENA region and brings a diverse mix of military dignitaries and marine defence technology companies from around the world to Doha. The addition of the MENC conference compliments DIMDEX 2012, with chiefs of navies and fleet commanders from across the GCC meeting their counterparts from Europe, Asia, and North America to discuss the pressing issues facing today's maritime defence industry.
