South African based Darley Interior Architectural Design (DIAD) has received double accolades recently when their work for Emirates was recognised through leading travel awards.
 
The MENA Interior Design Awards 2014, recognised DIAD's designs for the Emirates First and Business Class Concourse A, Dubai International Airport as DIAD received recognition for their outstanding work and top honours in the Best Hospitality Category.
 
Further, through voting by the Middle East and North African region's travellers, guests, and customers, Emirates has won the award for Best Airline Lounges in the Middle East 2014 at the annual World Travel Awards.
 
Both sets of awards seek to award hospitality industry role players around the globe for delivering services beyond expectation and contributing to the quality of world class destinations.
 
"The recognition that we have received through our client and these awards are testament to the competitive leading edge we have in designing for the international hospitality market. It's such a gratifying experience to be recognised and it inspires DIAD's design team to continue delivering unique world class interiors and destinations," said Shiree Darley, founder and CEO of DIAD.
 
The MENA Interior Design Awards honour the projects, interior design organisations, and designers making an impression in the design world, throughout the Middle East and North Africa region. The awards are open to all Interior Designers, Interior Architects, and Architects for design projects located in the Middle East and North Africa.
 
In the World Travel Awards, the Emirates First and Business Class lounges competed with three other esteemed nominees in the Middle East division including Abu Dhabi - Etihad Airways, Bahrain; Falcon Gold Lounge, Gulf Air; and Qatar Airways Premium Terminal, Doha. All regional winners will be competing with various other regions in the WTA Grand Final 2014 which will be hosted in Morocco at the end of the year. The WTA gala ceremony is regarded as the Oscars of the tourism industry with key decision makers, industry figures and media attending year after year to experience the supremacy of what the travel and tourism sector has been offering globally.
 
In addition to their work for Emirates, DIAD has also designed for various other well-known tourist destinations in the Middle East and North African Regions including the Al Houara Beach Resort in Morocco, Sumaysimah Island Palace and the Salwa Beach Resort in Qatar, as well as the Presidential Villa and Al Qasr Hotel in Yemen.
 
The interior design company specialises in the architectural design of unique and exclusive interiors for resorts, spas, airports, corporate offices and luxury residences and has built an impressive portfolio in Middle East, Europe, Africa and Indian Ocean Islands.
