Race Track Challenge receives an overwhelming response from mall visitors

Dubai, UAE, February 20, 2008: Visitors to Deira City Centre can get a closer experience of the thrill and action of motor-sports through the Centre's innovative "Race Track Challenge", during the Dubai Shopping Festival.

In the evenings, the Centre Stage area of the Deira City Centre comes alive to the sounds of motor-racing when eager participants pitch themselves in a battle of speed and wit to race each other for the fastest lap and walk away with exciting gifts being offered by the Centre's retailers.

The Race Track Challenge is among the host of activities being offered by Deira City Centre, which proudly celebrates the 12th year of its association with the Dubai Shopping Festival. Already in its fourth week, the event has witnessed an eager participation from the mall's visitors. Most participants in the challenge are young children who are keen to test their skills in the interactive contest.

The Race Track Challenge is open to the mall's visitors, aged 8 years and above, from 5 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and from 5 pm to 11 pm on weekends. The event concludes on February 24th, the last day of the Dubai Shopping Festival.

"The Race Track Challenge is a fantastic event that has captured the imagination our mall visitors," explained Fuad Al Najjar, Vice-President of Deira City Centre. "All through the Dubai Shopping Festival, the Centre is presenting a mix of initiatives that guarantee world-class entertainment and attractive bargains to guarantee a memorable experience for our customers."

Continuing along the same motor-sports theme, the Centre also has the "Spend & Win" promotion which  enables shoppers spending Dhs300 and above to enter into a raffle draw and the chance to win "His & Her" Limited Edition Corvette cars, plus driving experiences at the Dubai Autodrome. The limited edition Corvette cars are only among two of the 399 cars designed by well-known world racing legend Ron Fellows.
