Smart business guide with six sections for easy browsing of companies
Dubai, August 05, 2008: The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) has launched the "Dubai Resources Business Directory 2008", the first of its kind official listing of the department. The business directory is presented in an easy-to-browse international format with the option of checking company listings by category or classification. The object of the Dubai Resources Business Directory is to create a simplified and manageable version of businesses in Dubai and further support the emirate's business community.
Dubai Resources Business Directory is rendered in full coloured pages with six colour-coded sections that include information on Dubai and a detailed map; restaurant guide; real estate guide; classification index; category index and advertisers' index. The directory provides B2B information including the complete registry of all professional, commercial and industrial sectors registered under DED.
Mr Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General for Executive Affairs, DED, said: "The entrepreneurial community in Dubai is flourishing and there is all-round growth across diverse business sectors. The Dubai Resources Business Directory has been specifically conceptualized to further boost the business community and consumers with a ready reckoner on the various businesses in the Emirate. The primary difference from other directories is that Dubai Resources lists the updated and complete contact details of companies including never before published information like Trade License Number and Year of Establishment which provides proofs of their legitimacy and operational status."
The Dubai Resources also includes current business, economic and investments reports supplied by the Department of Economic Development. This information is helpful for both local and foreign businesses in cross-referencing their counterparts in Dubai and will assist in ease of doing business.
More than 65,000 copies of Dubai Resources have been printed and the circulation is on-going covering government agencies; 3, 4 and 5 star hotels in Dubai; all exhibitions held in Dubai; all free zones in Dubai; all foreign embassies and consulates in the UAE; the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing representative offices around the globe and selected international agencies.
The Dubai Resources Business Directory will also be distributed all year round from Department of Economic Development's main office and branch and will be included in the corporate package issued to all companies registering as well as renewing their licenses. This project is a product of collaboration and dedication of the Department of Economic Development and CONTINENTAD, the authorized publisher of the business directory.

The Department of Economic Development (DED) was established in March 1992, with the objective to organise, regulate and boost trade and industry within the Emirate of Dubai. The DED has moulded its mission of building a futuristic establishment, in accordance with the vision of the Government of Dubai and in the light of globalisation and the requirements of a digital economy.
