In what is believed to be the first of its kind, DDIT have recently updated its GPRS based video streaming system by hosting its own video streaming server in Saudi Arabia.
Using an updated server application, from key technology partner ICOP Digital Inc, all of the current mobile cameras are being reconfigured to send streamed video and audio to DDIT's server in Riyadh, KSA.
In a recent interview DDIT's Managing Director said "It has always been a requirement of the Kingdoms security forces to ensure the potentially highly sensitive video does not leave the Kingdom. By proving that DDIT can host the service, ensures that the security services can host their own highly secure servers, using the Kingdoms existing infrastructure".
The concept of streaming video over GPRS allows a security force command room to see exactly what the driver of the vehicle sees and by using ICOP 2020W DVR system can record and transmit the video simultaneously.
