Dubai, THE UAE, March 19, 2012 -- Four of D-Link's latest products, the DNS-320L Network Storage, DCS-6010L Fisheye Camera, DHP-W310AV Wireless Powerline Adapter, and DWR-910 Petit Router have been awarded the 2012 red dot product design award. The red dot design award is the largest and most renowned international accolade for industrial design. Each year, prominent designers and experts from all over the world evaluate products based on criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, and overall quality. This year, over 4,500 products vied for this this coveted distinction.

Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the red dot design award, pointed to the high quality level of the competition: "The most distinguished products of the respective branch of industry faced up, not only to the tough competition this year again, but also to the critical eye of the jury. The experts thoroughly examined, tested and evaluated each individual entry applying the highest standards. With their performances, the laureates did not only demonstrate an extraordinary design quality, but they also showed that design is an integral part of innovative product solutions."

D-Link pinned its success on its pioneering D-Link Cloud technology and the company's renewed emphasis on usability. "It's an honor to be recognized with several design awards this year. Our enduring focus on the cloud has delivered some especially innovation solutions that will change the way people approach networking." said Jocelyn Chung, VP of Marketing, D-Link Headquarters. "The DNS-320L, for instance, is a convenient storage device that allows our customers to leverage the cloud to remotely access, view, and share files and multimedia using a computer or mobile device. Technologies like the mydlink™ platform now make setup and usage simpler and more convenient than ever before."

DNS-320L Network Storage

The DNS-320L, when used with internal SATA drives, enables homes and offices to share documents, music, photos, and videos across the local network and on the Internet, so family members, friends, or employees can easily access them. Users can use this device to create a central network point to back up files. RAID 1 mirroring technology maintains a second copy of data in the event of a hard drive failure. In addition, the DNS-320L can stream music, photos, and videos to UPnP AV compatible network media players.

DCS-6010L Fisheye Camera

The DCS-6010L is a network camera equipped with a fisheye lens for a 180° panoramic view (wall mount) or a 360° surround view (ceiling/floor/table mount) without blind spots. The DCS-6010L offers various display layouts which include original, surround, panoramic, and regional views for various mounting applications. Using cutting-edge image processing, hemispherical images captured from the fisheye camera can be converted into conventional rectilinear projections for viewing and analysis. In addition, within the panoramic and regional viewing modes, users can utilize the ultra-smooth ePTZ function to easily zoom in and focus on a region of interest (ROI). This camera implements a 2 megapixel progressive scan CMOS sensor so the video streams can cover a larger scene and provide better quality than a typical analog CCTV camera.

DHP-W310AV Wireless Powerline Adapter

The DHP-W310AV is a sleek and compact wireless Powerline adapter that simplifies the process of extending a wireless network to the farthest corners of the home. Simply connect the DHP-W310AV to an existing Internet connection and by using your home's electrical wiring, the Powerline adapter will be able to share it with wired and wireless computers, HDTVs, networking devices, and gaming consoles at speeds of up to 200 Mbps. The device supports quality of service (QoS), ensuring high priority traffic such as VoIP calls and streaming media have priority over activities such as downloads and web browsing. The DHP-W310AV will switch to a wireless connection if the Powerline connection fails and vice versa, maintaining a persistent connection to your router.

DWR-910 Petit Router

In addition to its most basic role as a traditional LTE dongle, the DWR-910 can function as a multi-mode LTE/DC-HSPA mobile hotspot for any Wi-Fi enabled devices. The petit Router, operating with any USB power source, can be used in houses, offices, vehicles, and on the go to establish 4G LTE wireless network connection virtually anywhere. The DWR-910 is designed based on Qualcomm's latest 4G LTE platform, MDM9x15™ chipset, and provides reduced power consumption and many advanced networking features such as IPv6 and multiple SSIDs.
