The Labour Fund "Tamkeen" announced the opening of applications for the recently announced initiatives aimed at supporting employment and wage increments for Bahraini doctors, starting from Wednesday, March 1st, 2023.

The initiatives include supporting the employment of Bahraini doctors and dentists who are fresh graduates or job seekers nominated by the Ministry of Labour in private clinics and hospitals with a minimum wage of BHD 800, through a special track to support doctors within the National Employment Program. The support will include wage subsidies of 70%, 50%, and 30% respectively, for a period of 3 years.

The second initiative aims to support wage increments for doctors who are currently employed in private sector hospitals, through a tailored track as part of the Train and Grow Program. The support aims to increase the wages of employees who currently earn less than BHD 800, where Tamkeen will subsidize the increment by 100% up to the approved cap for 12 months.

The third initiative aims to facilitate the employment of Bahraini local talent in private sector health institutions and maintain 25% Bahrainization rates for doctors and dentists working in these institutions. Eligible enterprises may apply through Tamkeen’s enterprise support programs and will have the opportunity to increase the grant amount which will be subject to the Bahrainization rate at the time of the application, hence, providing the relevant incentives for such enterprises.

In addition, the fourth initiative which is currently under development, aims to provide financial support for educational loans in partnership with several local banks, where more details on this support will be announced through Tamkeen’s official channels.

It is worth mentioning that Tamkeen held an introductory session for all the initiatives that were recently announced, which was attended by more than 300 individuals from doctors, clinic owners, private hospitals, and interested parties. The sessions addressed the inquiries of the attendees to ensure achieving the desired impact of these initiatives.
