United Arab Emirates, Dubai- 17th December 2006:  Cleopatra's Beauty Institute, the only internationally recognized training centre setting the standards in the Middle East, announces its Spa Management course, scheduled to commence in the first week of January, 2007. 

The CBI Spa Management program is a comprehensive course segregated into 3 extensive modules. The course provides a wide range of knowledge and training covering issues from the specific management skills needed for the successful running of a Spa to the day to day operations of the Spa.

Module One of the course, commencing on the 6th January, 2007, is a one day per week attendance for a duration of 10 weeks.  The course is an intensive full-time program (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) consisting of a demanding curriculum covering a broad range of areas specific to the spa and its day-to-day running.  Topics include: History of Spa; Types of Spa; Management/Communication Skills; Spa Etiquette; Introduction to Spa Operations; Introduction to Health ad Safety Issues and finally; Anatomy & Physiology and relevant Pathology common to the Spa Environment.

The second Module, a 10 week course, with attendance of a day per week (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), commences on the 7th January, 2007.  This intermediate part of the course builds on information gained in module one and aims to provide a more comprehensive program of training.  It provides an opportunity for students to draw on the experiences and knowledge of existing managers and senior level professionals, currently working in the spa industry.  Topics include: Recruitment and staff handling; Stock Management issues; Costing; Introduction to Marketing; Managerial Day to Day Skills; Retailing and Sales; and finally, Brand Choice for the Spa.

The third module is set to commence on the 6th March 2007.  On completion and successful assessment of all three modules of the course, candidates will receive the CBI Certificate in Spa Management.

Also available to those who are new to the industry, CBI offers both 1 or 2 full-day seminars which aim to provide a quick, yet effective insight into Spa Management and covering such topics as: Marketing; Meeting Staff Training Needs and Finance.  Seminars are set to commence early 2007 and set to cater to those currently holding hotel and spa managerial positions, or those currently working in the wellbeing sector.

As the spa industry expands, so does the demand for staff at both therapist and management levels.  The spa and wellness sector is growing at an unprecedented rate and it is anticipated that the industry will suffer a severe deficit of senior level staff.  The shortage of experienced staff is already showing effect on the industry. The UAE is no exception from the major impact this deficit will have on the industry over the next 5 years. With the integration of Spa into hotels, holiday resorts and, as most recently, medical centers, Spa Management Professionals are already at a shortage and in high demand.
