Cruze goes from strength to strength as it scoops fourth award in the Middle East

Middle East - Chevrolet Cruze has been awarded its fourth industry accolade in the Middle East, with Wheels magazine naming it Best Small Saloon Car. The Wheels award follows wins of Best Small Saloon Car in the Middle East Arab Motor Awards (2010), Best Value for Money by Automobile Magazine and Future TV (2010), and Best Small Car from Middle East Car magazine (2009).

The Wheels award was presented at a ceremony last week, after the editorial team of the magazine - a sister publication of Gulf News - recognized Cruze as best in its class. All nominated cars for the Wheels awards, which were introduced last year, had to be launched for sale in 2010.

"This is the fourth award that the Cruze has received in the region and it is great to have third party endorsement and be recognized by an esteemed publication such as Wheels magazine. Internationally, the Cruze has received many other awards, including a 5-star safety rating in EuroNCAPand AUTOBEST "best buy" in 2010, as well as winning the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC)" said John Stadwick, President and Managing Director of General Motors Middle East Operations. "Cruze has achieved outstanding sales results in 2010 with sales reaching 7,387 units in 2010 in the Middle East.

In 2011 the Chevrolet Cruze offers new features which will continue to challenge preconceived notions about compact cars. The 2011 Cruze offers a new stereo system that includes MP3 playback capability and music navigator, six speakers and an auxiliary jack for personal playback devices, with a USB port available. In addition, passive entry and push button start come as standard on LT Premium.

The 2011 Cruze's naturally-aspirated 1.8L engine, producing 140 horsepower, is a compact and durable four-cylinder that combines competitive performance with sophisticated technologies, such as variable-geometry intake manifold, low maintenance, low emissions, and excellent fuel efficiency.
