ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 5, 2010 -- Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), launched the Aquaforce® 30XW, a water-cooled liquid chiller. The product was introduced at Carrier's Middle East HVAC Engineering Conference. The Aquaforce 30XW offers flexible, energy-efficient solutions for commercial building owners across the Middle East. In 2006, Carrier created a new category of energy-efficient chillers with the original launch of the Aquaforce® air-cooled chiller. Today, Carrier is expanding this concept into the water-cooled chiller market for the Middle East. With its high-efficiency design, Aquaforce® 30XW chillers can be adapted to a wide range of applications and customer requirements in high-ambient conditions. The Aquaforce® 30XW is offered in 27 models from 125 tons to 479 tons.

Environmental and Energy Efficiency

Philippe Delpech, newly appointed president Carrier HVAC EMEA and Commercial Refrigeration, attended the Engineering Conference and commented, "The launch of the Aquaforce® 30XW chiller reinforces Carrier's position in the Middle East as a world leader in environmentally responsible commercial heating, ventilation and air-conditioning solutions. This chiller's innovative design uses Carrier's latest screw compressor technology employing the non-ozone depleting R-134a refrigerant."

The Aquaforce chiller is more affordable to operate, reduces building energy consumption, and is up to 20 percent more efficient than its predecessors. Aquaforce chillers provide a strong solution as green building designs demand ever more efficient HVAC systems. In Middle East high ambient conditions, these chillers offer a full-load EER up to 5.0 (0.71 kW/Ton).

The Aquaforce chiller provides numerous factory-installed options, including configuration for single- or dual-power connections, reversing water connections, reinforced vessels for high water pressure applications and disassembled delivery.

Global Strength
