Cartoon shows, workshops, competitions and different events spread over 12 entertaining zones
The Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) threw open the doors of the Captain Hamad Cartoon City in Hall No. 5 and 6 of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), as one of the key locations for DSS activities and events. The 6000-square metre Captain Hamad Cartoon City appeals to children between the age group of 4-13, with 12 separate zones for cartoon shows, workshops, competitions and much more.
Noora Al Suwaidi, Head of the Cartoon Surprises Committee, said, "Captain Hamad is a character that we launched last year and found resounding success with our target audience. Therefore, we are presenting the City under the umbrella name of Captain Hamad."
She expects that the City will receive many amazed children, because many would like the various options as it would suit their interest, as well as that fact that they can interact with their favourite cartoon characters. The Cartoon City will present the daily shows in a huge stage, which will also host well-known cartoon characters. The City features 21 different events pertaining to artistic skills and imagination in the Workshop Zone, which will provide free stationery and material to the little ones.
A special Kids Sumo Wrestling ring will encourage the children to participate in enhancing their physical strength in a spirit of healthy competition. Also on offer are the Mushroom Souq, the Captain Hamad Science Corner, the Jungle Adventure Cartoon Land, the Smurfs show, Snow White and Seven Dwarves, Chutes and Ladders by Wild Wadi, Play & Win Zone, Bait Al Khair corner, Teletubbies corner, Toon dance Studio, Cartoon Funfair and much more. Cartoon characters would meet children in different parts of the city and children can take pictures with their favourite characters.
The Captain Hamad Cartoon City will be open from the 8th to 23rd July, daily from 2pm to 10pm. Entry per head is Dhs. 5. This venue is sponsored by LG and by Dubai World Trade Centre.
