New Bubble Jet printers with full Exif Print support allow users of any Exif-compliant digital camera to plug directly into the printer


Dubai, UAE, 15 October 2002 – Canon has announced two great new photo printers at GITEX today, the new Bubble Jet S830D and the S530D. These super-high quality photo printers fully support Exif Print [Exif 2.2], the world standard in digital photography, allowing the user of any Exif Print-compliant camera to connect directly to them.
The S830D photo printer (which replaces the S820D) provides the same ultimate print quality as the multi award-winning flagship S900 photo printer. Ultimate photo quality is achieved with 2400x1200 dpi resolution using six-colour inks. It is by far the fastest direct photo printer in its class, printing a true borderless 1200x1200 dpi photo (with full bleed) in approximately two minutes, and includes USB 2.0 Full Speed support.
The S530 is pitched as the fastest all-round photo printer, offering outstanding performance with 2400x1200dpi professional photo quality, fast print speeds of up to 14ppm mono and 10ppm in colour, and the versatility of direct printing at an affordable price.

Full Exif Print compatibility is now provided both in direct print modes from compatible digital camera or from a memory card, or via the Easy-PhotoPrint application included.
Bubble Jet S830D
This S830D photo printer provides the same ultimate print quality as the multi award-winning flagship S900 photo printer. Ultimate photo quality is achieved with 2400x1200 dpi resolution using 6-colour inks, advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology™, 1/6-density photo inks and permanent 4 pl drop size.
Canon technology ensures photo prints with smoother ink coverage, reduced image ‘noise’ and grainy texture as well as greatly improved gradation between mid-tones. This gives the user deeper, richer, more accurate and more intense colours, and ensures an extremely natural look to any photographic print.
Compatibility
The Canon PowerShot S30*, PowerShot S40*, PowerShot G2*, IXUS 330 and IXUS v2 digital cameras and MVX2i camcorder can print directly to these printers using Bubble Jet Direct print mode. The printers’ PC Card slots accepts CompactFlash™, SmartMedia™, Memory Stick™ and Microdrive™ cards from other digital cameras for direct printing without a PC.
Digital print order format
The printers support DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) allowing the pre-selection of images directly from a digital camera.
Using the specifically designed LCD control panel on the printer itself, users can easily select print quality, paper type and image layout as well as selecting which images are to be printed from the memory card installed. To further enhance flexibility, an optional TFT colour LCD viewing panel is available allowing images on the memory card to be viewed during the selection process.
