Collect, activate and use your Burgan Bank EMV-chip debit & credit cards to win prizes

Kuwait City, 20 May 2008: Who imagined that simply collecting and using your Burgan Bank EMV Chip Card could win you a 42-inches plasma TV? That's exactly what happened when Mr. Mohammed Akhtar Sandal collected his new Burgan Bank EMV-chip enabled card from his branch in Hawalli. At the first-ever Chip Card draw held by the Bank recently, Mohammed Akhtar emerged as the winner of the first prize and will now take home the gleaming new home entertainment 42 inch TV.

Says Burgan Bank Retail Banking & Operations Group Senior General Manager Simon Clements, "We want customers like Mohammed to benefit from the highest levels of security that our EMV chip cards offer and to ensure that they get total peace of mind when using their cards to make purchases in Kuwait and anywhere in the world. Our draws are an incentive to ensure that our customers avail of this added feature and security option."

The draw also gave away exciting prizes to four other customers who collected and activated their Burgan Bank EMV Chip Card. This promotion is exclusively for Burgan Bank card customers whereby current cardholders with a regular card are contacted by Burgan Bank via SMS and invited to collect their EMV-chip card from their nearest branch. The sooner cardholders activate their cards, the sooner they stand to be eligible for a grand draw where they not only get to win lots of prizes but also the grand prize of a gleaming brand-new BMW 5 series.

What's more, the more frequently cardholders use their EMV-chip debit or credit card for purchases and other transactions, the higher their chances of winning. Customers who do not currently have a card account at Burgan can participate by opening an account with an ATM debit or a credit card during the limited time promotion which will run through the summer.
