British Publishers Limited will be hosting the next in its global series of eStrategies events in Bahrain on January 22, 2008. This latest forum follows the company's most recent elearning event, which was held at the eChallenges Conference in the Hague in October.
The exclusive Forum will bring together the leading and most important Government and industry decision makers from across the Middle East to discuss the future of elearning.
The Middle East is an upcoming market, even though major western IT vendors have already expanded into the region. With the growing number of learning systems and increasing investment in education following the launch of the "Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation", the problem is no longer a lack of technology, but rather a need to address the challenges facing the region, such as improving training for all citizens in the use of ICT, the elimination of illiteracy and inspiring lifelong learning.
The eStrategies Roundtable Forum gives academic, corporate and government officials the opportunity to discuss some of the challenges underlying the region and a platform for exploring how new learning technologies should address those concerns. The key aims of the event are to drive best practice and the sharing of thought leadership, and to consider what strategies should be followed in the Middle East for inspiring a new generation of education and training.
The growing success of eStrategies globally has attracted experts from some of the world's leading educational institutions and associations, including INSEAD and the European Institute for Elearning (EIfEL), as well as global technology vendors such as Blackboard, Smart Technologies, Digital Publishing and Fronter. One of the key sponsors of the Bahrain eStrategies Roundtable will be Universal Knowledge Solutions and speaking at the conference will be the CEO, Mr Fadi Abdul Khalek.
Leading experts will cover the hottest trends and topics. These include:
? The challenges associated with the implementation of elearning in the Middle East and the Arab World
? The use of new technologies in the education and corporate marketplace for competitive advantage
? Improving teacher training, capacity building and training for all citizens in the use of ICT
? Classroom learning and ICT
? The growth of elearning in the higher education context
? Making best use of growing investment in the region and achieving the aims of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Foundation, including building a knowledge-based society and bridging the gap between the Middle East and Western nations
? Strategies for inspiring a new generation of education and training, and facilitating public-private partnerships.
The Roundtable forum will feature a panel of speakers and leading elearning experts, viewed by a highly targeted audience made up of key representatives from an array of government departments, educational institutions, as well as training organizations and business enterprises heavily involved in elearning in the Middle East.
The Network Manager at The American School of the Hague described the recent eStrategies Roundtable Forum at the eChallenges conference as "useful for us to help plan future strategies. As a relatively small, independent school we can envision, plan and fund measures leading to a genuine learning culture, but even on this one-school scale the ideal isn't easy to achieve".
