Borouge also showcased a collection of greenhouse and irrigation materials for the agriculture market, polyethylene and polypropylene pipe system materials for the infrastructure and construction industries, and power cable solutions for China’s growing clean energy grids. Also highlighted, were a suite of mobility solutions which make electric vehicles lighter and more sustainable, in addition to a range of advanced packaging solutions that sustainably deliver fresh, healthy food across China and beyond.
INSPIRING TOMORROW
At this edition of Chinaplas, Borouge presented its new brand platform, ‘INSPIRING TOMORROW’, highlighting what this offers the China market.
“At Borouge, we recognise that plastics help to solve global challenges and are an essential part of everyday life in China and around the world. This motivates us to develop and provide solutions that create value for our customers and the communities they serve,” shared Wim Roels, CEO of Borouge Pte Ltd.
“We work closely with our customers and their partners to deeply understand the range of challenges which our solutions can address. So when we come to Shanghai, we are here to share our latest solutions, and we’re also here to listen to, and be inspired by the market, so we can apply this knowledge to tomorrow’s innovation.”
ANTEO™ IS THE NEW INGREDIENT FOR COMPLETE SUCCESS
Anteo™ boasts a unique combination of end-use properties for consumer and industrial applications, delivering easy processability at lower extruder pressure, better sealing speed and integrity, and improved puncture resistance.
"We have recently introduced Anteo to customers across China through a series of packaging workshops as well as a seminar this week at Chinaplas. The response has been exceptional. We endeavour to highlight not only the technical benefits of Anteo, but also how it creates value for our customers," states Michael Pell, Borouge’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. "In essence, the Anteo advantage means even more than improved sealing speed, efficient processing, and enhanced aesthetics: it also means more reliability, quality and value."
A PARTNER IN CHINA’S PROGRESS
China is leading the global shift towards a circular economy, which has been captured in the words of President Xi Jinping, that "green mountains and clear water are as good as mountains of gold and silver". The country is bringing this vision to life, taking steps to reduce carbon emissions, embracing clean energy, reforming waste management practices, and promoting e-vehicles. This national transformation, aimed at protecting the environment, will greatly enhance the lives of China’s population. It also creates many new opportunities for the plastics industry to participate in this shift, and support the evolving needs of the market.
“The China plastics market is important to Borouge, and there has never been a more progressive dynamic in this market than there is right now. In the past few years we’ve participated in China’s move towards greater efficiency, with the adoption of automation and high performance polymer technology. Last year, the market came together in support of the government strategy to embrace a more innovation-driven approach, putting more emphasis on quality over quantity,” said Vincent Ong, Borouge’s Senior Vice President of Asia North. “In 2018, we see the focus in China becoming further refined, around the theme of sustainability.”
“Borouge’s overall development has been based on these key themes, and we feel well positioned to support our customers through this continued transition towards greater efficiency, quality and sustainability. Our presence at Chinaplas provides a valuable opportunity to showcase our latest solutions, and more importantly, to reconnect with our customers and make sure we’re moving in pace with their evolving needs.”
