Boecker®, one of the largest Public Health companies in the Middle East, has partnered with the Municipal Control Department of Doha Municipality to organise a nation-wide food safety awareness drive in Qatar. The initiative aims at educating children on the importance of food safety practices at home and in school.
As part of the drive, Doha Municipality organized a fair to which all schools in Qatar were invited to attend. A series of sessions were conducted by Boecker®, to educate students on a range of topics such as health awareness, food poisoning, safe food handling and proper hand washing techniques, among many others. The sessions have been specially tailored to be interactive and engaging by incorporating a variety of demonstration tools such as colour coded cutting boards and awareness posters. About 3,500 students, aged between 4 to 13 years old, attended the sessions.
Commenting on the successful launch of the food safety awareness drive, Carla Ghaleb, Boecker® Qatar Country Manager, said, "It has been our immense delight to support the Doha Municipality in this significant initiative. Boecker® is highly committed to promoting health awareness among all community members. We are very keen on engaging with children so they know the importance of public health and hygiene at an early age. School awareness sessions are organized periodically across all countries where Boecker® operates. Supporting this initiative reaffirms Boecker® strategic approach to Corporate Social Responsibility where education and awareness are one of the main pillars."
