Bank Nizwa, Oman's first Islamic bank, won the top award for 'Best Customer Service in the Banking Sector' at the Oman Customer Service Excellence Awards 2013. The Awards were hosted by Oman International Trade and Exhibitions under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Tourism for the 2nd year. During the award ceremony Bank Nizwa was commended for its outstanding commitment towards client satisfaction.

The Oman Customer Service Excellence Awards are designed to help improve the customer service in the country and to encourage leading organisations and individuals to provide unique, innovative and exceptional services to their customers. Bank Nizwa was judged under specific criteria which included an assessment of its customer service standards throughout its branches. The bank was praised for its innovative service management program which incorporates a variety of customer friendly features. Some areas of note were instant account opening on presentation of National Identification Card, instant ATM card and cheque book issuance and 24 hour phone banking services. Bank Nizwa's online customer surveys enable it to collect and analyse customer feedback to create a positive banking experience which is convenient and stress free.
