Manama - Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) today announced that the Bahrain International Property Exhibition 2008 (BIPEX 2008) which was held under the patronage of H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, Kingdom of Bahrain successfully closed its fifth record year attracting over 13,500 visitors.
Commenting on the success of BIPEX2008, Mr. Mohammed Khalil Alsayed, BIPEX Organising Committee Chairman, said: "Having attracted a record 13,500 footfalls, BIPEX 2008 has further consolidated its position as not only Bahrain's premier international property exhibition but has also emerged as one of the largest property exhibitions in the GCC. The exhibition has had a positive impact on the real estate and infrastructure development sector with real estate sector assets worth US$50 billion being showcased. One notable point is that the organiser viz., BSE, is a non-profit society compared to other purely commercially oriented property events."
He added further "The overwhelming response received for the interactive Technical Session, another first for Bahrain and BIPEX, was a distinguishing feature of the event. The Technical Session which brought together industry representatives and players on one platform, face-to-face with the public, provided a lively interface and also shed light on the property market in the region and Bahrain. He concluded by saying "having successfully staged BIPEX 2008, we are upbeat about next year's event with several exhibitors already evincing keen interest well in advance. This year's success has strengthened our resolve to host BIPEX 2009 on a bigger scale."
BIPEX 2008 attracted 98 participants from the UK, Portugal, India, Philippines, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, in addition to those from Bahrain, compared to 70 in 2007.
BIPEX 2008 also increased its exhibition area to 8,700 m², from last year's 6,000 m², to cater to the growing demand from exhibitors and participants. The exhibition, which was held in its fifth year, was supported by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry
