Dubai, June 20, 2007- The American University in Dubai (AUD) received three of the world's leading Structural Analysis and Earthquake Engineering software, ETABS, SAFE and SAP2000, developed by M/s. Computers & Structures Inc., (CSI) Berkeley, California, USA. The donated software packages, which provide state-of-the-art training to Civil Engineering students, were delivered to AUD's School of Engineering during a meeting in the presence of Dr. Elias I. Saqan, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, Mrs. Dania Bazzy, Director of External Affairs and Acting Dean of Student Services, C.J. Ajayakumar, CEO of Techiesoft FZ LLC and P. S. Ganesh, Deputy General Manager of Techiesoft FZ LLC.

Dr. Alaa Ashmamy, Dean, School of Engineering, commented: "The software packages donated by the Techiesoft Group represent today's industry standards in the field of structural engineering, and we thank them for their support to engineering education.  Dr. Saqan's instrumental role in coordinating this acquisition demonstrates our commitment to making state-of-the-art educational resources available to our students, and providing them with the tools to succeed in their professional careers."

Dr. Elias I. Saqan, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at The American University in Dubai, noted:" The UAE in general and Dubai in particular are witnessing a revolution in infrastructure projects and high-rise buildings.  SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE are the world's leading structural analysis and design software.  By giving our students hands-on experience with these software packages, we are not only enhancing their performance in the classroom, but we are also giving our graduates a quick jump start for their professional career."

"It is our primary interest to support the education sector and we are proud of associating with American University in Dubai to provide the best technological innovative solutions for Structural engineering design and to enhance the opportunities of their students to explore the world's best Engineering Software. We surely continue to support the University in the future. Today this region is the highest projects declared area in the world and the structures of most of the tallest buildings in the world including Burj Dubai are designed using CSI Software", said C.J.  Ajayakumar.

CSI's software permit engineers to perform at more productive and efficient levels. ETABS has been developed for multi-story building structures such as office buildings, apartments and hospitals. SAFE offers a professional software environment for the analysis and design of concrete slabs and foundations. SAP2000 is used in civil structures such as bridges, dams, stadiums, industrial structures and buildings.
