Beirut - Alfa, the mobile operator, managed by Orascom Telecom announced that it is keeping on strengthening its network all over Lebanon by installing 10 new Radio Stations since the 30th of July 2009. 132 Stations have been installed progressively in the different regions and several update operations have been implemented in addition to the expansion of 361 existing Radio Base Stations, since February 2009, in order to enhance the quality of transmission, improve the network coverage and increase its capacity to support the subscribers' traffic and growth.
In compliance with this strategy, the company has installed the new Stations as follows:
- 1 Radio Station in Jbeil
- 1 Radio Station in Hjoula (Jbeil Region)
- 1 Radio Station in Tarchich (Metn Region)
- 1 Radio Station in Aaboudie (North Region)
- 1 Radio Station in Sayyad (Hazmieh Region)
- 1 Radio Station in Down Town
- 1 Radio Station in Raachine (Kesrouan Region)
- 1 Radio Station in Rmeil (Achrafieh Region)
- 1 Radio Station in Bayader (Jezzine Region)
- 1 Radio Station in Kfarhouna (Jezzine Region)
It's worth mentioning that Alfa has been managed by "Orascom Telecom Holding" (OTH) since February 2009. Orascom Telecom is the leading mobile operator in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. Orascom counts over 80 million subscribers.
