A short video display to the public before every game

A joint committee of specialists in the field of security and safety in collaboration with the Qatar Olympic Committee and the General Directorate of Civil Defense to inspect all means of safety within the club's headquarters.

The aftermath of Villaggio Mall's deadly and heart wrenching fire has triggered efforts to avoid any further such incidents at other facilities within Doha. Bearing such sentiments is Al Sadd's Sports Club whom places high priority on the safety of its staff and fans. Working alongside is a joint committee of specialists in the field of security and safety, as well as in collaboration with Qatar Olympic Committee and General Directorate of Civil Defense. They unite to inspect all levels of safety within the club's facilities. The purpose aims at verifying the efficiency of the safety precautions in place to secure the well-being of the staff and public.

The Committee commenced its work by visiting Al Sadd Sports Club and inspecting all fire extinguishers, the firm alarm system, a review of the emergency exists along with evacuation plans that enable everyone to safely and effectively evacuate the premises in the case of a fire or the like.

During the inspection the joint team prepared a report clearly outlining the necessary required means of action to reach heights of full safety potential. Both, the Olympic Committee and the club immediately began application of such standards to be completed at their soonest.

Mr.Jassim Al-Rumaihi, General Secretary of Al Sadd Sports Club spoke on the matter, saying, "There is no room for complacency or inaction with respect to safety and security. Losses of life or injury could never be compensated. At Al Sadd we take precautionary measures for emergency very seriously, and begin with the verification of all means that impact safety within the club. Such efforts entail clearly identifying emergency exists, the appointment of safety officers from various departments, and the implementation of fire safety training for all staff members on how to properly use fire extinguishers and the operation of a mock evacuation plan. We ask God to save everyone from all harm and are deeply saddened by recent events."

Mr.Salah Ahmed commented on the role of social responsibility with respect to safety, he said, "Raising community awareness is a top priority in the program of Al Sadd  Sports Club towards social responsibility. As sports facilities are frequented by large numbers of fans, we intend to implement a short video before every game that outlines safety guidelines for the public next season, similar to the one displayed in planes. The video will also be made accessible on the website in order to educate as many members of the community in attempts to avoid the risks of fires in public places and elsewhere."

It is worth mentioning that Al Sadd Sports Club attaches great importance to the elements of security and safety. They shall periodically inspect all the alarms and sprinkler systems in the building, therefore securing the requirements for the safety of the staff and its visitors.
