All set for highly anticipated 2008 Cultural Festival in Abu Dhabi, in honour of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)

Dubai - The organizing committee of "Al Mahabba Awards" festival hosted a gala dinner for a group of actors, actresses and media personalities to invite them to attend the second session of the " Al Mahabba Awards " festival in Abu Dhabi from 17-19 April 2008 as guests of honor.

Hanan Turk  and Ahmad Al-Shokairi graced the star-studded evening to help extend the organizing committee's invitation.

Hanan Turk expressed delight at her fellow celebrities' acceptance of the invitation, which was held to introduce the second session of the festival. The occasion also served as an opportunity for the stars to express their love for the Holy Prophet, sharing the sentiments of millions of Muslim devotees worldwide.

Turk said: "The first session of the festival achieved great success, and galvanized various sectors of society - from young people to professionals; from ordinary citizens to celebrities - in professing their love for Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). We wish to achieve, if not surpass, that success with the second session which will be held in Abu Dhabi next year."

The event in Cairo was also attended by Mahmoud Al Jendi Ahmed Badir, Said Saleh, Mouna Abdul Ghani who all confirmed their attendance at the Al Mahabba Awards Festival.

Popular media personality Ahmed Al-Shokairi, the official spokesman of the festival, said: "The gala dinner was a good opportunity to gather the invited artists to inform them of the noble objectives of the festival, and to welcome them as guests of honor in the forthcoming second session in the UAE capital."

He added: "We hope that the 'Al Mahabba Awards' festival will be the beginning of a new love story between Muslims and the Prophet. We hope to give viewers and participants, Muslims and others, enough passion to search for the Messenger of God in their lives throughout the year."

For his part, Feras Al-Maddah, Director of Media Relations of the festival, said: "It was such a delight to see the brilliant cluster of actors, actresses and media personalities at the dinner, which confirmed their enthusiasm to participate in meaningful works that aim to deepen Muslims' love for their Holy Messenger, and their willingness to do what serves the noble goal of 'granting mankind the opportunity, through modern media, to fully sense the personality of the leader and the Prophet of God.'"

The organizing committee of "Al Mahabba Awards" festival announced the agreement singed earlier with Hanan Turk and Ahmad Al-Shokairi to present a paragraph in the "If He Is With Us" program, produced by Andalusia to enlighten young people about the Messenger of God, Mohammed (PBUH).

The said program in the " Al Mahabba Awards " festival in Abu Dhabi will be dedicated to showcasing the various art and literary works created in honour of Prophet Mohammed.

The program consists of 25 episodes to be broadcast over 6 months, one episode each week on a satellite channel. The program will host art celebrities, political personalities and clerics from all over the world.

The program aims to highlight the categories of the awards and to keep the public informed of the coming participation from all over the world and in different languages.

Each episode will allow the audience to watch some of the participating work in the "Al Mahabba Awards", and get a close look at the prizes and categories, and obtain information on how to participate.

The participating works will be presented to the Judging Panel in London, which includes a group of international specialists in the areas of art and literature.

The Organizing Committee of the festival designed a special website, www.mahabba.tv, to accept participation over the internet and to increase the interaction between young people wishing to submit their work, as the expression of love for the messenger (peace be upon him) is not restricted to professionals in the field of art and literature, but it is open to all mankind.

The festival earlier recognized the efforts of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minster, by awarding him the "Personality of the Year" title during the first session.

The late Syrian director Mustafa Al-Akad topped the list of the awardees in this creative festival, which has been organized by a group of young men and women from the Arab and Muslim worlds under the supervision of scientists, clerics and artists and the support of several UAE and Saudi Arabian companies.
