Doha, Qatar - 16 May 2007 - Al Jazeera Children's Channel, the first Pan Arabic edutainment channel, announced today the winners' names in 'Voyage to the Future' environmental competition launched earlier in March 2007. Three children won a trip to Mongolia for 10 days starting 21st July.

Over 400 Arab Children participated in this competition which was hosted by JCC website (www.jcctv.net). Over 200 participants sent correct answers, three of which were announced winners: Nadir Raghid Shakhshir (Syria), Shatha Awni Sweiti (Jordan) and Maryam Mohd Al-Amadi (Qatar).

'Voyage to the Future' is an event organized by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). Being a member of ABU, Al Jazeera Children's Channel provides the opportunity for Arab children to participate in this year's journey alongside a group of students from different Asian countries and to learn about environmental issues.

During this year's excursion, a series of guided visits will progressively introduce the participants to the different aspects of the desert environment and nature, focusing on key species, the challenges they face, the behaviors they exhibit and the adaptations that enable them to survive.

JCC camera crew will accompany the winners to Mongolia during the 'Voyage to the Future' journey and will produce a number of reports to be broadcast later this year.
