This is Al Baghdadia's second major purchase of Vislink equipment in 2009

Al Baghdadia TV is adding to its Outside Broadcast equipment, investing in three new vehicle mounted satellite antennas from Vislink News and Entertainment.

Their latest order is for 1.2 metre ADVENT Newswifts, which are HD capable and will enable Al Baghdadia to upgrade to High Definition as necessary.

This follows immediately after the LINK wireless camera systems which Al Baghdadia TV bought from Vislink News and Entertainment in January.

AV Solutions, a specialist broadcast systems integrator in Iraq, is a leading supplier of broadcast technology into the Iraqi market and has taken on the role of DSNG and Wireless Camera system supply in addition to DSNG Vehicle integration for this project.

The new DSNGs comprise ADVENT equipment almost from start to finish. The antennas are the popular ADVENT Newswift model. This is a compact, vehicle-mounted satellite terminal designed for rapid deployment news applications. It is fully weatherproof and the design allows for two internal HPAs.  The dishes will operate on KU band (13.75 - 14.5 GHz).

The supporting electronic package comprises the powerful ADVENT 5000 series video exciter and decoder, which saves space in vehicles because two units can sit side by side in one rack.

Al Baghdadia has chosen the ADVENT auto acquisition satellite finder so that their staff will be able operate the new equipment without undergoing specialist training on satellite uplinks. The complete DSNGs are being supplied by Vislink's Middle Eastern office in Dubai. Mather Al Ali, Vislink's General Manager for the Middle East and North Africa, says, "We are seeing a strong interest in SNGs and wireless camera systems in the Middle East and our business in the Middle East has grown fast since we opened in Dubai."

In January 2009, Vislink created its new News and Entertainment business unit, headed by Managing Director Ben McLeod. This unites Vislink's four broadcast businesses, Advent Communications, Link Research, Microwave Radio Communications and Western Technical Services. All are prominent suppliers to the Broadcast sector. Vislink News and Entertainment is now marketing and supporting all of the companies' products: the ADVENTsatellite communications solutions, the LINK RF and wireless camera systems and the MRC microwave solutions. All these have the professional support of Vislink's service division.
