Houston, April 19, 2005 - As an expected 150,000 golf fans gather at the 2005 Shell Houston Open to watch competition heat up on the green, Aggreko will be there to cool things down, supplying a one-megawatt rental power and air conditioning package for the week-long PGA Tour event.

Aggreko, the world's leading supplier of rental power and temperature control systems, will provide temporary power for the tournament's hospitality tents, concession stands, and catering operations.  Aggreko will also keep patrons cool and comfortable with its quiet, portable Special Event air conditioners.

The company's service center in Pearland, Texas, is providing:

  • 20 portable rental power generators that produce enough electricity to power a neighborhood of 600 homes,

  • More than 19 miles of electrical cables, or the equivalent of about 90 holes of golf at Redstone Golf Club,

  • More than 500 20-amp, 110 volt receptacles for the caterers, televisions and tent lights,

  • Enough air conditioning to cool 300 homes.

Aggreko has a long history of providing critical rental power and temperature control equipment to some of the world's biggest golf tournaments such as the U.S. Open, in addition to supporting other major sporting events, including multiple Olympic Games and Super Bowls.
