E-30 Sells for AED 4m

Dubai (UAE)- Total proceeds of the 59th Distinguished Number Plates Auction organized by the Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) exceeded 23.5 million dirham, led by the number plate E-30, which was sold for Dh4 million, such that the two-digit numbers on offer (E-30 and F-59) topped Dh6 millions.

The three-digit number plate (F-100) was a subject of a fierce competition between bidders, whose number exceeded 200, pushing the price of this number to Dh2.3 million. This boosted total proceeds of three-digit numbers on offer, including (F-400, F-250, F-112 and others) to Dh8.1 million.

The four-digit numbers group was topped by F 1111 which was sold for AED 1.8 million, triggering a heated bidding on this series of distinguished numbers. These numbers include 1111, 3333, 1177, 2244, 6677, 5550, 6660, 9990, 1003, 2001, and 6009 as well as other numbers under E, F, G, and H categories. Accordingly, total proceeds of this series amounted to Dh5.8 million.

The hot bidding momentum was carried through to the five-digit numbers which contained several distinguished numbers such as 22222, 33333, 50000, 90000, 55000, 99000, 13331, 88888, 20022, 77755, and 99911 as well as other numbers under the categories EFGHD. Total earnings from this series reached AED4.6 million, topped by the number plate 22222 F which was sold for AED 800,000.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA Licensing Agency, said that the Auction attracted a wide spectrum of bidders from all UAE emirates, who were keen to take part in the bidding process. "This is why RTA is quite keen to upgrade the auction, be it in mechanisms, or offering new numbers to meet the requirements of these people who are desirous of obtaining distinguished number plates" said the CEO of RTA Licensing Agency.
