E.ON Ruhrgas Norge AS has appointed AGR Drilling Production Technology (DPT) - part of the Norway-based oil technology and services group Ability Group ASA - to provide drilling management and sub surface services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
E.ON Ruhrgas Norge, based in Stavanger, is seeking to qualify as an operator in Norway and as part of this process it is expanding its exploration and production organization. E.ON Ruhrgas Norge and DPT have now entered into a broad co-operation agreement for drilling operations whereby the Ability Group will provide expertise and support in the areas of well engineering and operations, sub-surface evaluation and technical advice and HSE services.
AGR Drilling Production Technology is part of the Ability Group's petroleum services division which is established as one of the world's leading independent providers of outsourced drilling and production services with a track record for assisting, in particular, smaller independent oil companies.
"We are delighted to have been chosen to assist E.ON Ruhrgas Norge at this important time," said Per Inge Remmen, Executive Vice President, AGR Petroleum Services. "We are confident that this will be the start of a long and rewarding relationship."
E.ON Ruhrgas Norge is the Norwegian upstream subsidiary of E.ON Ruhrgas AG based in Germany. E.ON Ruhrgas belongs to E.ON AG, one of Europe's largest private power and gas companies and is responsible for the group's pan-European gas business.
