Dubai, UAE - The competition held by Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority a 100% owned entity by the Government of Dubai witnessed 300 startup applicants. 360MEA was chosen as the Best Travel Tech startup of the year by a judging panel of the top investors in the region. The judging panel included Ramy Assaf senior associate at Middle East Venture Partners, Heather Henyon managing partner at Balthazar Capital, Wissam Otaky the group CFO at Hatcher and William Chappell the chief financial officer at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.

The competition invited 300 emerging entrepreneurs to share their start-up proposals, prototype products and business plans.  360MEA's vision was to help millions of people travel in time virtually to see content as if they are there which helps people stop being deceived with edited content, be engaged and stop wasting precious time.

On winning the Best Travel Tech Startup, Zaatarah, founder of 360MEA said: "We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate and win the best Travel Tech Startup award in the biggest startup competition of the Middle East region. 360MEA was as well nominated to partner with IBM and access the enterprise-class cloud platforms and services in the value up to USD24,000 per year. IBM 's Cloud platforms are designed to empower companies to innovate rapidly by providing a full suite of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a service (PaaS) offerings.

The day also featured two panels, the first a Travel Tech panel featuring Sanjay Sharma, Head of Innovation for Emirates, Aftab Sayed, Director of E-Commerce & Digital Services at Marriott International MENA and Vineet Budki, Founder & CEO of Guidoo World.

The second panel focused on Start-up Success and included Magnus Olsson, Co-Founder of Careem, Omar Kassim, CEO and Founder of JadoPado, Sarah Jones, Founder of Mini Exchange and Karl Naim, Co-founder & Managing Director at ChefXchange.

360MEA is the first mobile application launched form Dubai allowing control of 360virtual reality videos and tours focused on experiences and real estate with the simple swipe of a finger or the motion of a mobile screen.  The application allows the user to be in control of the videos and tours they see. This 360 video virtual app is as well the first to be launched from the Middle East.
