JEDDAH — The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) Board of Directors has agreed on the contract termination of the head coach of the Saudi National team Herve Renard upon his request.

A legal settlement has been reached to end the contract between the two parties, an official statement read on Tuesday.

The President and Board of Directors of SAFF wished Renard every success in his future endeavors.

The 54-year-old manager has overseen his team’s friendly game against Bolivia at Jeddah’s Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium on Tuesday as his last match with the Saudi team.

Renard led Saudi Arabia to an historic win over world champions Argentina in the last World Cup’s group stage.

The former Lille head coach is now on the verge of being named manager of the France’s women team, AFP reported.

Renard, a double AFCON winner, is the French FA’s sole candidate to replace Corinne Diacre, with the latter having been dismissed from her position amid a player exodus over her management style, just months before the World Cup kicks off in Australia and New Zealand this summer. `
