MANAMA: Hala Bahrain, a hospitality service provider at Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has launched a new chauffeur service enabling eligible passengers to travel between BIA and Saudi Arabia via the King Fahad Causeway without the need for Coronavirus (Covid-19) testing.

The service was introduced following the decision of Saudi authorities to ease travel restrictions, enabling citizens and residents to return home to their families.

The company fleet, which can accommodate up to four passengers per vehicle, travels directly between BIA and King Fahd Causeway, and there are strict health and safety measures in place to protect the wellbeing of both drivers and passengers using the service.

All vehicles are fitted with isolators between the driver and passenger compartments and are disinfected after each trip.

Extra masks and hand sanitisers are also available for passengers.

Additionally, drivers are temperature-checked before reporting for duty, wear masks and gloves at all times, and are routinely tested for Covid-19.

Eligible passengers arriving in Bahrain and traveling on to Saudi Arabia are driven directly from the airport to a designated drop-off point across the causeway.

A similar process applies for eligible passengers coming from Saudi Arabia and heading to BIA, making the journey safer by taking into consideration Covid-19 precautionary measures.

Eligibility for the service is conditional and requires official permission to move in and out of Saudi Arabia from Saudi authorities, a relevant visa for expatriates, a passport copy, a flight ticket, and a Covid-19 test certificate in accordance with relevant authority and airline guidelines upon reservation.
