TUNIS - A working session was held, on Wednesday in Tripoli, between Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem and Libya's Foreign and Co-operation Minister Achour Ben Khyal. The session was held on the fringes of the President of the Republic's two-day visit to Libya.

The two sides agreed to strengthen consultation and co-ordination on the bilateral files and issues pertaining to the Maghreb and Arab regions, as well as the regional and international issues of mutual interest. Mr. Abdessalem presented to his Libyan counterpart the priority fields of bilateral co-operation, namely employment, trade exchanges, development in the border areas, as well as reviewing of the legal framework ruling bilateral relations and the exchange of visits between the two countries' officials and experts. In turn, Mr. Achour Ben Khyal voiced Libya's high consideration to Tunisia for its noble and constant stand in favour of the Libyan people, pointing out that his country will never forget Tunisia's support and its generous assistance to the Libyan Revolution.

The Libyan Minister also commended the steps made by Tunisia on the path of democratic transition, reasserting Libya's attachment to boost the fraternity and partnership relations between the two countries in all fields, in addition to the creation of new mechanisms to this effect, in the service of the two countries' mutual interests.
