Tunisia - The expansion projects in the automotive industry and its components, including electric cars that the Japanese group "Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze" intends to carry out in Tunisia were discussed at a meeting between Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Neila Gongi and executive director of the Japanese group, "Soichiro Namba" on Wednesday.

Gongi stressed the Ministry's willingness to provide the necessary guidance to investors and industrialists to overcome obstacles and help the "Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze Group to carry out its investment projects in Tunisia in the best conditions»

This type of project is consistent with the broad guidelines of the Ministry in the field of electrical transport, Gongi was quoted as saying by a statement from the department.

The "Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze" group, which specialises in the manufacture of electrical cables and electronic components for major international automobile manufacturers, is present in Tunisia through three subsidiaries: Jendouba (3400 jobs), Monastir (2000 jobs), and El Faja in Manouba Governorate, which is in its first phase.
