Egypt’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has issued a total of 116,149 temporary licenses and 108,064 final licenses for new projects between July 2014 and December 2022, according to a statement by the Egyptian cabinet on March 11th.

This came during a meeting headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to review a report presented by Basel Rahmy, CEO of MSMEDA, on the agency’s development efforts over the past eight years.

Rahmy pointed out that MSMEDA’s efforts are part of the state’s plan to limit unemployment, as the agency worked on encouraging youth to launch their enterprises in different fields under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to propel development and enhance investment in human capital.

MSMEDA’s CEO added that the agency provides free training programs on the importance of using e-commerce and e-marketing to build and enhance the digital knowledge, noting that these programs targeted 3,546 projects.
