Cairo –  The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the government to develop the areas most affected by the ‘Dragon’ storm that hit the country last Thursday and Friday.

At a value of EGP 750 million, El-Desmy village in El-Saf and El-Zarayeb area of the 15 May suburb of southern Cairo will be developed in collaboration with non-governmental organisations (NGOs), the prime minister Mostafa Madbouly said in a statement late on Tuesday.

Compensations will be also be paid for damages resulting from the extreme weather conditions.

Madbouly further revealed that the country incurred losses of EGP 800 million due to damages made to the roads, railway, electricity, water, and wastewater sectors.
