Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Minister of Finance and Industry in the UAE, passed away on Wednesday.

Sheikh Hamdan's brother, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, shared the tragic news through his official Twitter handle.

Sheikh Mohammed mourned the death of his brother and tweeted: “We belong to God and to Him we shall return. May God have mercy on you, my brother, my support and my companion.”

Sheikh Hamdan was the second son of the late ruler Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
