Amman - The Zarqa Water Project will be implemented later this month, Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammed Najjar said on Monday.
The $275 million Project, he said, is funded by the U.S. government within the Millennium Project.
He added that the ministry is keen to address the city's water consumption and cut it by 12 per cent. He noted programs carried out by the Water Authority to cut water wastage in the governorate, which reached 48 per cent.
In a statement published today, Najjar noted plans to cut water wastage to 30 per cent within a set timeframe, allowing water service around the clock.
