RIYADH -- Xpressmoney, the global money transfer company, in association with AVT Khyber TV, held a series of community development programs for the Pakistani Pushtoon community here.
This was part of the organization's initiative to enhance the awareness of the free remittance facility to Pakistan in order to promote the remittances through the legal remittance channels.
Xpressmoney with a global presence in 150 countries and 170,000 agent locations has played a key role in promoting remittance to Pakistan through its network across the globe. Pakistanis working overseas has supported their nation by remitting $13.16 billion last year and during the first nine months of the current financial year the remittances reached $10.53 billion versus $9.735 billion during the same period last year.
This showed an increase of 6.35% and at the current growth rate remittances are estimated to touch $15 billion at the end of this fiscal.
Xpressmoney through its agent network of 160 plus locations of Tahweel Al Rajhi, continues to offer free remittance to Pakistan, said Albin Joseph, Country Manager KSA. Two community gatherings were held at Shifa Yasmine Park Hall on April 27-28, which was attended by almost 500 plus people, who were thankful to KSA government for the opportunity of working here and earn a livelihood for their families back home.
They also expressed the hope that the upcoming general elections in Pakistan will eventually lead to the formation of a resourceful government that will take care of the welfare of the country as well as the expatriates.
This was followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh on April 29. Pakistan Ambassador Mohammed Naeem Khan distributed certificates of Xpressmoney to those community leaders and members who have played a key role in promoting the message of sending money to Pakistan through the legal channels.
He also lauded the efforts of Xpressmoney in promoting remittance through legal channels and also urged the gathering to continue their efforts in this direction.
Apart from the Pakistan Embassy officials several community leaders took part in this function.
