TSSC unveils its latest doors and galvanised, steel-profiled, reinforced uPVC windows.

TSSC, a 40-year old company, the market leader in coldstores, composite panels, profiled claddings and related building materials and a member of the well-known Harwal Group of manufacturing companies, is proud to launch its latest products - a line of doors and galvanised, steel-profile, reinforced uPVC windows.

The latest plant, part of a major manufacturing facility being put up in Industrial Area 13, Sharjah, is expected to be a major player in supplying uPVC windows and doors to the ever-growing market in the UAE and other regions for corrosion-free products, fuelled by the huge growth in real estate business in the GCC countries, in particular, Dubai Emirate, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.

TSSC manufactures a wide range of products from its manufacturing facility in Sharjah, UAE.  Its portfolio, among a constantly increasing range, includes:

Manufacture, supply and installation of coldstore insulation rigid PUF panels and doors, including transport insulation.  Major turnkey refrigeration jobs are also undertaken throughout the MENA region, including unique powerpack racking systems for the condensing units.

Manufacture of roof- and wall-insulated composite panels, corrugated sheets, Z and C purlins, ridge ventilators and such, with related accessories.

Manufacture of reach-in can coolers and vertical freezers.

Manufacture of PVC and metal garden sheds being exported to UK, Continental Europe and USA.

Manufacture and installation of made-to-order pre-fabricated housing/porta-cabins, telecom shelters, guard houses etc.

According to AP Dellapenna, TSSC Executive Director, the company holds a 75 per cent share in the coldstore market in the GCC region.  Prestigious projects include Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, World Trade Centre hotels in Dubai, Grand Hyatt, Mina slaughterhouse in Mecca, Maweelah fruit and vegetable store in Muscat, fruit and vegetable markets in Dubai and Sharjah, and various Carrefour and LuLu Hypermarket outlets.

TSSC holds a similar GCC market share for composite panels, corrugated sheets and similar products.  Continuous exports are made to major projects in all GCC countries, North Africa, CIS countries, Far East etc.

Though a rookie in the field of can coolers and vertical freezers due to the modest size of its factory, TSSC has still managed to bag orders from prestigious clients such as Mecca Cola, Unikai, Jeema, Zulal and Maaza.  Now, TSSC is in the process of completing a major expansion of the can cooler plant, which is expected to triple its capacity, enabling it to take on bigger players in the market.

Telecom shelters have been supplied to major GSM service providers around the Middle East.

Quality management system

Its stringent quality management system has carved a niche for TSSC as the oldest and most reputed manufacturer in the region and has long resulted in TSSC coldstore panels being certified by Lloyds Register in London.  The company also has in place the coveted ISO 9000-2000 Quality Management System, certified by Vincotte and IQ Net.  It is also well on its way to obtain SASO and CE certification for its can coolers and vertical freezers.

Expansion plans

According to Dellapenna, the 11,000 sq m facility in Industrial Area 13, Sharjah, UAE, will house the uPVC doors and windows plant, one of the largest hot dip galvanising plants in the Middle East, a cable tray, trunking and accessory manufacturing unit.  This facility is being put up at a cost of AED 24 million and is expected to be on stream by the end of the first quarter of 2005.

The company is also in the process of putting up the region's most integrated and sophisticated production line for composite panels in Dubai Investments Park with a total investment of about AED 45 million. This facility will have a production capacity of 8,000 sq m of composite panels a day. This, combined with the existing capacity, will give TSSC a production capacity of more than 12,500 sq m of composite panels per day, the highest in the region and constituting a major share of the MENA regional market.

Success story

TSSC and the Harwal Group attribute its success and market leadership to its dedicated and skilled team of managers and employees, with emphasis on the skilled in-house engineering and design team, helping the group to design and build sophisticated manufacturing equipment at a reasonable cost, giving it a cost advantage in the market.

Team TSSC is expected to continue this grand success story in the years to come, keeping it at number-one position for the foreseeable future.

The salient features of uPVC

Global warming, acid rain, green house effect, desertation and noise uproar are global environmental problems. Reducing energy consumption, increasing energy savings in all aspects, saving the forest and using recyclable products are some of the measures that can contribute to solving many of the environmental problems.

The solution

uPVC is an acronym for 'un-plasticized poly vinyl chloride'. uPVC is a specially engineered compound consisting of metallic stabilisers, meta-acrylite and titanium dioxide with poly-vinyl chloride. This compound is a unique substance optimised for performance, economy and beauty. Specially designed uPVC products from TSSC continue a distinguished old-world tradition in the manufacture of windows and doors established centuries ago by American, French and German craftsmen. TSSC products also offer quality, elegance and lasting beauty. This is possible because of uPVC's numerous unique characteristics like:

Highly resistant to heavy UV radiation

Highly resistant to thermal alterations created by exposure to extreme heat and cold

Highly resistant to corrosion and abrasions; unaffected by acid and alkali

     Non-flammable and shock resistant

     Non-conductive of electricity

     Soundproof

Non-cracking and ideal for all weather conditions, including the most severe ones

Available in unlimited colours and finishes, including a natural wood touch that does not need painting or maintenance.

The advantages

TSSC designs uPVC profiles to meet architectural and standard requirements. The following are the advantages of uPVC:

    High weather resistance

    Water resistance

    Corrosion resistance

    Soundproof

    Low thermal expansion

    Electricity insulation

    Attractive appearance

    High precision

    Heat insulation

    Energy saving.
